M’hamid El Ghizlane (Province of Zagora) -“Culture and diversity: Sources of universal value”, was at the center of a round table organized in M’hamid El Ghizlane (province of Zagora), on the sidelines of the 13th edition of the Taragalte Festival, which is held from November 1 to 3 under the theme “Africa in the spotlight – World melodies under the stars of the Moroccan Sahara”.
During this meeting, Moroccan and foreign speakers addressed the importance of culture and the role it can play in consecrating the values of peace, tolerance and security, through the establishment of partnerships and organization of cultural activities and programs between peoples focusing on cultural, intellectual and religious diversity.
Likewise, they insisted on the need to invest in cultural diversity as a vector of development, to promote cultural heritage, to capitalize on human resources and to promote the blossoming of talents through various forms of cultural and artistic expression.
On this occasion, the general delegate of the Festival Foundation on Niger (FSN), Djibril Guissé, emphasized the importance of cultural and artistic festivals in consecrating the values of friendship and mutual respect between peoples.
And to add, in a statement to MAP, that this intellectual meeting organized as part of the activities of the Taragalte Festival constitutes an opportunity for people and actors interested in the values of tolerance and peace representing several countries including Mali, Niger and Senegal, to encourage the sharing of experiences and ideas in terms of programs and activities with a cultural and intellectual vocation.
Organized by the Taragalte Association for Culture and Sustainable Development, the Taragalte Festival has worked, since its creation, to create bridges between peoples within the framework of South-South cultural cooperation.
The Taragalte Festival is organized in partnership with the Provincial Council of Zagora, the Drâa-Tafilalet Region, as well as international institutions such as the French Institute of Morocco.
