The Villeurbanne Short Film Festival promises a “more intense” formula this year.
The Villeurbanne Short Film Festival will celebrate its 45th edition this year, with a revised format and a busy program.
Organized by the Association for Cinema and Le Zola Cinema, the 45th edition of the Villeurbanne Short Film Festival returns from November 12 to 17, 2024. Six days focused on the competition, a formula “shorter and more intense“, according to the organizers. Two international competitions are again on the program of the event. The themes chosen are youth and politics.
The broadcasts of the short films in competition will take place on Wednesday 13, Thursday 14 and Friday 15 November. As for the jury, it will be chaired by Oussama Kheddam, who grew up in Villeurbanne, and seen in particular in “Youssef Salem is successful“or the series”Family Business“. The award ceremony and handover at the Festival Que du Feu de Lyon are scheduled for Saturday, November 16, from 7 p.m., during the closing ceremony.

Also, every day of the festival, at the beginning of the afternoon, the public will be able to meet and discuss with the directors of the programs broadcast the day before. There will also be masterclasses in educational establishments, open to all. On Tuesday, Simon Roussin and Jean-Charles Mbotti-Malolo will be at Môrice Leroux college. On Friday, Oussama Kheddam will be present at Brossolette high school.
