This is the prelude to the 16e edition of the Occitan Festival: a double exhibition which combines Occitan culture, history and humor will be inaugurated this Tuesday, at the media library (1) : “It includes an exhibition, produced by the Institute of Occitan Studies of Ariège and called “La guèrra vista per Dantoine”, which we designed with the agreement of the caricaturist’s heirs, comments Daniel Pédoussat, president of the Circle Occitan. This is the first time it has been presented and it brings together 38 drawings on life in the trenches, made by Dantoine. Originally from , the cartoonist took advantage of the break times to bring to life the characters and situations around him, delivering a unique portrait of the first world conflict and its actors, with often corrosive humor.

The “clash of cultures”, on the front
