(Montreal) An agreement in principle was finally reached, Thursday evening, between the Union des artistes (UDA) and the Association québécoise de la production media (AQPM).

This agreement thus puts an end to the various actions undertaken by the artists’ union to put pressure on the AQPM during negotiations on the renewal of the collective agreement.
The two entities announced that they had reached this agreement in a joint press release published in the evening.
According to the press release, the agreement in principle must be submitted to the vote of the members of the UDA and the AQPM soon. However, both parties warn, the process is likely to take several weeks.
As is often the case in these cases, the details of the agreement will only be revealed after being presented to the various authorities.
The UDA had used various means of pressure which had impacted certain filming and recording sets in recent weeks, notably the series Dumas, Alerts or even The weapons.
The collective agreement governing the minimum conditions of engagement for performing artists from Quebec had expired on 1is February 2023.
The UDA represents approximately 13,000 artists in Quebec.
