RAM and the Festival Écrans Noirs celebrate ten years of partnership – Today Morocco

Royal Air Maroc and the Festival Écrans Noirs celebrated, on Sunday in Yaoundé, ten years of partnership in favor of the development of Cameroonian and African seventh art. Initiated in 2014, this partnership has enabled this cinematographic event to establish itself in a decade as a privileged framework for the dissemination and promotion of African cinema in the Central African sub-region, thereby embodying a crossroads for the exhibition of African culture on the international stage.

During an event organized on the sidelines of the 28th edition of the Festival, the founder of the event, Bassek Ba Khobio, underlined in a statement to the press that the partnership with RAM “has brought a lot to the Écrans Noirs Festival”, adding that thanks to this commitment from Royal Air Maroc as official carrier, the Festival “was able to invite several professionals of the African seventh art over the years, which contributed to the reputation and the place occupied by this event on the continental level.

Referring to the contribution of Moroccan cinema to Africa, Mr. Bassek noted that the Moroccan seventh art plays the role of locomotive of cinema for several African countries, including Cameroon, by training several executives and helping in the production of several films to the continental scale.
