the essential
Until November 3, discover the works of 23 artists on the facades and inside the former FCT factory that became Dedienne Aérospace in Sabanel.
“Each factory that is reborn is a metamorphosis: a place that finds its voice, its function, and its soul.” This formula is highlighted by the management of Dedienne Aérospace and can only be welcome on the former FCT site which experienced so much turbulence until its closure. A sad pattern to which, unfortunately, we were too accustomed here with the descent into hell of deindustrialization since the 1980s.
With Laurence Choux, communications director as a luxury guide, the giant paintings created or still in progress by the 22 urban art artists selected by the Lay up collective from Toulouse, do not fail to impress. In the hall, and intended to remain here, the sculptures by Marc Petit representing the 22 major arcana of the tarot, taken from the collection of Jean-Claude Volot, founder of the company and great patron of outsider art, of which he owns a of the world’s greatest collections at Auberive Abbey in Champagne. Among the urban art artists, two Albigensians: Croké and Laska. The artistic patronage of the company’s founder is coupled with the strong tropism for urban art of Cédric Barbe, the current president. This happy conjunction allows us to discover this magnificent exhibition until November 3, every day from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Beyond this magnificent invitation, the functioning of what will be for Europe, the counterpart of the Springfield (Ohio) site for America will be put in place.
The Dedienne Aérospace design office will be in Saint-Juéry where the know-how of a company with 36 sites around the world will be developed. Service sites comprising only a few people, for a total of 400 at group level, including 90 here after 60 new hires to come, it being understood that the staff from the Garric site, closed, will join the Sabanel site.
Because Dedienne Aérospace manufactures very specific equipment such as tripods which, four in number, lift an aircraft for maintenance, tow bars, or even trolleys for engines like the Leap 1B which will be manufactured here, capable of carrying the engines aircraft which weigh 2 to 3 tonnes and represent a quarter of the value of an aircraft. We will be delighted with the arrival of Dedienne Aérospace, a runway for local employment.
