Alain Ducasse will transform the Maison du Peuple in -la-Garenne into a temple of gastronomy

Alain Ducasse took over the Maison du Peuple, in -la-Garenne, with the ambition of transforming it into a temple of gastronomy.

Alain Ducasse overflowing with ideas. Over the past decade, the chef will have opened a coffee factory, a chocolate factory, an ice cream factory, a biscuit factory, a restaurant that praises plants, and more recently even a gourmet restaurant in the heart of the Baccarat Museum.

And it’s far from over for the multi-star chef who also undertook to transform the Maison du Peuple in Clichy-la-Garenne into a temple of gastronomyinjecting into the project nearly 30 million euros after purchasing the premises for 2.1 million euros.

The work of this huge building of 4200 square meters located in the Hauts-de-Seine (92) began at the start of 2024. Classified in Historical Monumentsthe Maison du Peuple de Clichy was built in the 1930s by the architects Eugène Beaudouin and Marcel Lods, the engineer Vladimir Bodiansky and the workshops of Jean Prouvé.

Made of glass and of metal in a modernist architecturewith floors, glass roofs, partitions and a movable roof, the Maison du Peuple of Clichy-la-Garenne had been in decay for more than thirty years. In collaboration with the architectes Perrot & Richard and the designers from the Jouin Manku agencythe multi-starred chef intends to transform it into a “Villa Medici of international gastronomy.”

To discover inside, soon, a laboratory open to chefs from around the world, the different factories of chef Ducasse – whose products will obviously be on sale, the group’s head office, as well as a broth with around sixty dishes to enjoy at a lower cost. To be continued!
