This week, the Guardian of the Crown of Romania and one of her sisters, Princess Maria, visited the Bulandra Theater in Bucharest. They paid tribute to the artist Victor Rebengiuc, on the occasion of the hundredth performance of the play “The Father” by Florin Zeller.

This Wednesday, October 9, the Royal House of Romania wanted to honor the country’s cultural heritage. Margareta of Romania, Guardian of the Crown, went to the Bulandra Theater with her youngest sister, Princess Maria, to attend the hundredth performance of the play “The Father”, directed by Cristi Juncu.
The Bulandra Theater is a true institution. This is the first state theater, founded in 1947 as the Municipal Theater. As early as 1941, a theater company already occupied the stage of this theater built around 1926. One actress in particular stood out: Lucia Sturdza-Bulandra. She would become one of the greatest theater figures of her time. She will also become the director of this theater and the theater will be named after her.
This Wednesday the hundredth performance of the play “Le Père”, written by the French screenwriter Florin Zeller, took place. This play was first performed in 2012 at the Hébertot theater in Paris. The play is included in The Times’ ranking of the 25 greatest plays of this century. On the stage of the Bulandra Theater, we could observe the performance of the famous Victor Rebengiuc.

The career of Victor Rebengiuc honored by the Royal House of Romania
Victor Rebengiuc is part of the cast of this adaptation directed by Cristi Juncu. Margareta of Romania and Princess Maria wanted to meet this master of Romanian theater. Victor Rebengiuc is 91 years old and has played countless roles on television, theater and other productions. He is the second actor to have his star on the Bucharest Walk of Fame.
The two daughters of King Michael I were welcomed to the theater by the director, Vlad Zamfirescu, accompanied by Mariana Mihuț and Mihaela Caracaș. At the end of the performance Margareta and Maria from Romania came on stage to congratulate the entire cast and all the show technicians.
