VIDEO. New residents discover La Flèche before being received at the town hall

They are retired or in their thirties with young children. They arrive from , or Mayotte. Thirty-three new residents responded this Saturday morning, October 12, 2024 to the invitation of elected officials from the municipal council. There is always a little summer camp aspect to this type of event.

A Nobel Peace Prize

The recipients first took a guided bus tour, commented by Carine Ménage, deputy mayor in charge of culture. Here they discover that their new city had a Nobel Peace Prize winner, Paul d’Estournelles de Constant, many times a deputy then a senator, who died in 1924.

Corn market and Italian theater

They are introduced to the Pépinière stadium, the four-star campsite, the Monnerie complex, the activity zones, the municipal greenhouses… The new residents are then invited to discover the wheat market and its theater at the Italian. All before being received by the mayor, Nadine Grelet Certenais, and part of the municipal council at the town hall. And to share a drink, just to get to know each other better.
