“Why I stopped music temporarily”

Known for having taken her first steps in the world of Senegalese music, the artist Ramatoulaye Clémentine Sarr, alias Guigui Sarr, has been noted for her absence for some time in the artistic world. In a recent statement, she explains the reasons which pushed her to put her musical career on temporary hiatus.

“For the moment, I’m on standby on the music side. I am more in the cinema with short films in production and also in writing. I recently released a book about a woman battling breast cancer. This work is published by Éditions Baudelaire in ,” he said.

She recalls: “My last album “Esprit” dates back to 2020, but I promise my fans to come back very soon. Music is part of my life, it’s my DNA. It was thanks to her that I became famous; so I don’t see myself giving up music. “

“I stopped just for personal reasons, and it was beyond my control. There were deaths of loved ones which really affected me, which is why I decided to stop playing music temporarily. I preferred to take a small withdrawal, but I will soon come back in force,” she added.
