Indeed, speaking about the benefits of therapy and self-acceptance, Mel Charlot opened up about the death of her mother, which occurred in 2015, following cancer.
“I lost my mother in 2015 and for at least four, five years afterwards, I had no interest in living,” she said.
When the host asked her if she thought about dying, she replied this:
“Yes, I thought about it, yes. This is the first time I’ve said it, but I’ve thought about it often because it was such a shock. I didn’t think I would lose my mother so soon. Also, everything that happened afterwards – there was a change in my friends, there was a change in my family, we are such a big family – I felt that suddenly we were together. is separated, everyone took their sides, and that’s normal, death affects so many people differently, but at that time I didn’t see that yet. Now, with hindsight and therapy – I’m going to keep saying it – I can see that. But, it was very difficult for me. I wasn’t sure I wanted to continue. (…) »
She then stated that she felt good now, having learned to better accept the uncontrollable, to seek help and thus to detach herself from a certain pressure to perform that she felt.
