The event brings together fashion experts and sewing enthusiasts from emerging countries. The outfits presented were selected by the Silk Road and Al Andalus Association, dedicated to Moroccan and oriental fashion. The objective is “to highlight Moroccan culture and our know-how in the field of fashion. The Brics+ Fashion Summit is a platform to meet other organizations and discuss collaboration possibilities,” explained to the MAPWafaa Daoui, member of this association created this year by Hind Joudar.
Wafaa Daoui highlights the notoriety of the Moroccan caftan in the world of oriental fashion. “The Moroccan caftan is a unique piece. Beyond the outfit, there is a whole story and a storytelling,” she said, indicating that the Brics+ Fashion Summit was an opportunity to celebrate this traditional Moroccan outfit and the creativity of Moroccan artisans. This event also allows for interaction and collaboration between the fashion designers who take part, she added.

The association member also announced the holding of “Marrakech Fashion Week” next February, which will bring together stylists from different countries. Committed to promoting oriental fashion, the association has been organizing the Oriental Fashion Show (OFS) for several years, a unique event aimed at highlighting oriental artistic creations. The association has collaborated on more than ten fashion shows around the world and also worked to promote 200 Moroccan designers, recalled Wafaa Daoui.
Launched in 2023, the BRICS+ Fashion Summit is, according to its organizers, a major event for the fashion industry in emerging countries. Delegations from over 30 African countries, China, India, Indonesia, United Arab Emirates, Brazil, Malaysia, Latin America and Europe, participated in this global event which was hosted through business meetings, an international exhibition dedicated to heritage, as well as master classes led by global experts in the fashion industry.
