Dan Tepfer has once again won over music lovers

A singular concert, renewed with each performance, “Inventions/reinventions” is difficult to translate into words. Under the virtuoso fingers of Dan Tepfer, the keyboard becomes simply magical. The pianist began by proposing an improvisation inspired by the drawings made by the blind trainees welcomed during the week of artist residency.

The meeting of two translations of emotions aroused by the music, superimposed on that of the listener, increased tenfold the simple pleasure of individual listening. The musician then presented his project: to dialogue with Bach by interpreting the 15 inventions of the famous German composer with which he interjects his own reinventions, the “nine missing tones.”

Surrounded by darkness, only the heart of the piano shines while Dan Tepfer, also dressed in black, reveals his soul. His chest straighter when he performs Bach, his body comes alive, his feet beat the tempo, his voice emerges, at the moment when the released sound passes through him.

Literally fascinated, music lovers witness the genesis of improvisation. A generous musician, Dan Tepfer has a nice surprise in store for the audience for the finale. He invites Nicolas, one of the trainees from Salone, to share the stage with him for a totally captivating voice-piano duet.

An event not to be missed at the Armand theater: “A chalet in Gstaad”, written and directed by Josiane Balasko, Friday October 11 at 8:30 p.m. Price: €40 to €54. Information: 04 90 56 00 82.
