Tim, the winner of “The Voice Kids”, “dreams of creating his own singing-themed amusement park”

His voice is even softer than usual. The fault of a much shorter night than usual. “I didn’t sleep at all.”Tim tells us on the other end of the phone this Sunday morning. The day before, the 13-year-old schoolboy from Bois-Colombes, in Hauts-de-Seine, was crowned “The Voice Kids 2024” in front of his classmates April, Coline and Louis. First talent of the season to be revealed (new window)he chose to perform Radiohead’s “Creep” during his blind audition. He who sang “not to be in your place” at the start of the competition assures us that he found his own thanks to the program.

“I really made the most of it. It touched me a lot to do this show. It’s beautiful because we manage to convey emotions”Tim tells us. Qualified as “wakeful soul” by his coach Lara Fabian, the teenager who started singing only three years ago is still struggling to realize what he has just experienced. “Amazing” et “fou” are the adjectives that come up most often during our discussion, interrupted several times by his comrades who came to say goodbye.

In your portrait, you said that music made you “enormously happy”. How do you feel now that you have won “The Voice Kids”?

It’s a little bit of pride but it’s also something crazy. I didn’t realize what it was. I am extremely lucky to have done this. I didn’t even believe it. To think that I went through so many steps to win season 10 of “The Voice Kids” is incredible.

You had a little trouble finding the words right after your victory. What would you like to say to viewers who watched the show?

I would like to thank them but also say thank you to all my friends who participated in this season. Thanks also to my mom, my grandparents, my family because they supported me a lot in this adventure. It’s weird to think that it’s already over. It happened very quickly. I loved it, I enjoyed being there. It is an experience that will stay with me for several decades.

It was a bit of a strange finale since the performances were recorded in the afternoon. What did you do to wait until the live results were announced?

We rested because we needed it. We had just been singing a lot. You really had to concentrate and de-stress after experiencing so many crazy emotions.

If you had to choose just one moment from your finale, it would be…

I think that the moment that will remain engraved in my life are my duets with Patrick Bruel and Lara Fabian. Both of them are my idols! They are also very kind, very caring people. I really loved it.

Lara Fabian said she never won anything before winning “The Voice Kids” with you. How would you describe your relationship?

We’re really close. Both of us, it was a crush. We saw that we had a bit of the same personality, and that really touched us. We are very sensitive, we are quite shy even if we sing on big stages. We told ourselves that we were similar and that we were going to enjoy this show. She and Sophie Delmas, the vocal coach, taught me a lot of things. They were very involved in my progress in “The Voice Kids”.

Lara Fabian spoke about a toolbox to explain her work as a coach. What is the best tool she gave you?

She advised me to open my mouth more and be more vertical so that the sound comes out better.

Your mom and grandparents were in the audience for the finale. How did your reunion go?

We were really shocked, we gave each other a big hug. I had several messages from my friends from my choir of the Petits chanters d’Asnières. They all supported me, it was really touching. I thank them for that too!

What would your dream debut album look like?

It would be French or English pop, that remains to be seen. But I have a preference for English because it is still a universal language. My mom lived in the United States for nine years and has spoken English to me since I was a baby. It’s a bit of another native language for me. I love Lady Gaga, she is truly amazing. My mom also knows her uncle so it’s really great! I also love Zayn, Sia, Billie Eilish, Tom Odell and many others!

During your blind audition, Slimane said that you had “an angelic voice”. But do you have a little demon side on a daily basis?

I can be very shy and sometimes very extroverted, it depends on the day!

Do you already know where you are going to store your trophy?

I think I’ll put it in my room. It’s a lot heavier than I thought. It’s made of iron and it weighs 5 kilos, that’s not nothing!

Usually, the final of “The Voice Kids” takes place during the All Saints’ Day holidays. Did you skip school this week?

We went to school the first three days. Wednesday evening we arrived at the hotel and the next day we were at the studio. We recorded the interviews and started rehearsals. We worked a lot to achieve a grandiose final.

Junior Eurovision? It could be fun and very very cool

Starting tomorrow Monday, it’s back to school…

Yes, I start again at 8 a.m., but I don’t know which class! My classmates have been very kind since the start of the school year. They protect me a little, they didn’t bombard me with “The Voice Kids”. The principal told me that if he could participate in this project, it would be with great pleasure.

Did you negotiate a gift with your mother in the event of victory?

No, no! I’ll see if we can organize something. Maybe a mini-party because we had already had a big one after the semi-final with 150 people. We even rented a room!

If you don’t become a singer, what other job do you dream of doing?

I’m not going to bother your brain too much because you won’t understand anything, it’s attraction theming.

It involves creating courses on the roller coaster. It would be something crazy if I could make it happen because I’ve had this project in mind for two years now. I would like to create my amusement park on the theme of singing with a room of 10,000 seats to give the chance to artists who are just starting out and organize big concerts.

Where did this idea come from?

From a YouTuber called EDBattraction. Everything he does has inspired me a lot. I told myself that we had fun in this profession, which is what I would like to do by creating my company.

You know Zoé Clauzure, who won Junior Eurovision last year . Would you like to represent France?

It could be fun and very, very cool, yes! It’s still a big show that brings together almost all the countries of Europe. But for now, I’m not really wondering about it. I’ve already won “The Voice Kids”, I’m going to let the emotions go down and we’ll see later.

The priority is to succeed in your 4th year?

Yes, the priority is school!
