With more than 17 million views on YouTube in 48 hours, the documentary by French YouTuber Inoxtag on his ascent of Everest has enjoyed unusual success since its launch. “Kaizen” is broadcast on RTS2 this Friday, October 4 and is available on Play RTS until November 3.
Documentary of almost 2h30 signed Inoxtag, “Kaizen“(Japanese term one of whose meanings is “change for the better”) quickly garnered more than 2 million “likes” on the YouTube platform.
“Very exceptional figures”, according to a YouTube spokesperson, for whom it is “one of the best launches in the history” of the platform in France, even if it is far from those of American stars like MrBeast who can quickly accumulate several tens of millions of views.
In Switzerland, the Inoxtag documentary is broadcast on RTS2 this Friday October 4 at 8:30 p.m. and it is available on Play RTS until November 3.
Real name Inès Benazzouz, the 22-year-old YouTuber with 20 million subscribers on social networks knew neither the techniques nor the codes of mountaineering before embarking on his challenge, submitting to intensive training with a guide, Mathis Dumas.

Some 340,000 people in dark rooms
The story of his year of preparation and his rise was also a hit in theaters, bringing together some 340,000 spectators to the film’s previews.
For content put online for free a few hours later, “it’s unheard of”, according to Nathanaël Karmitz, one of the managers of the French distributor MK2, praising “the desire for collective experience” and a film which “deserves to be seen on the big screen.”
