this crazy gesture from David Beckham inspired Victoria for her new perfume

On September 27, Victoria Beckham unveiled the latest perfume in her range. If the smell is divine, the story behind it is just as pretty and romantic. Zoom.

Standing in a Parisian living room, we await the arrival of Victoria Beckham. This Friday, September 27, the former Spice Girl met with the press in the French capital, to present the new products from her brand: a perfume and a corrective pen created in partnership with the prestigious brand Augustinus Bader. She enters the room, dressed in a magnificent blue suit, silence falls. That evening, she also presented her latest clothing collection as part of Fashion. In short, the program is busy.

What catches our attention? Her perfume, titled 21:50 Rêverie, which was released the same day. It is a fragrance based around vanilla, cedarwood and Tonka beans. The smell is strong, with character and delicious at the same time. But also and above all, it is unisex, a very important point for the creator of Victoria Beckham Beauty. “I don’t like perfumes that are too feminine, I think finding a balance is important. My brand DNA resides in that, whether it’s a suit jacket or a perfume. My husband wears it and I think that says a lot“, she tells us. The star made this new juice with her friend Jérôme Epinette, a nose with whom she has been working for five years now. “I feel like he knows my relationship with my husband as much as I do.“, she jokes. And for good reason, 21:50 Reverie is inspired by a romantic dinner with David Beckham but also and above all, by an incredibly romantic gesture on the part of the former footballer.

A few years ago, the couple was on the island of Java, Indonesia, and shared an intimate dinner in the middle of a rice field. “When the sun set, candles were lit and David had arranged to have tea leaves scattered all over the field. There were thousands of them!“, remembers Victoria Beckham. And adds: “It was so romantic, I didn’t expect it at all! ”

When imagining a new fragrance, the fashion designer wants to recreate this memory: the humid earth of Java, dried by the sun’s rays, the tea leaves and the scent of the rice fields. “It really was like a trip back in time. When it came to choosing a name, I remembered that 9:50 p.m. was the time the sun set and I could feel the smell of these tea leaves.” And why “Reverie” then? As Victoria Beckham puts it so well, quite simply because the experience was worthy of a dream. Smelling this juice instantly takes her back to Java, in the middle of the rice fields. Vanilla and woody at the same time , 9:50 p.m. Rêverie is deposited on the epidermis like a second skin and the tattoo of its trail is both powerful and addictive.
