End clap for Hedi Slimane at Celine. The designer bids farewell to the French house for which he has worked since January 2018.
The brand founded in 1945 announced this Wednesday in a press release the departure of its director of artistic creation and image Hedi Slimane, after more than six years of creation.
“Hedi Slimane’s holistic vision, his demands and his rigor, made it possible to redesign Celine’s codes while reaffirming its feminine and Parisian roots,” welcomes the press release. “The journey we have traveled together over the last seven years makes Celine a house with formidable foundations for the future,” we can also read.
A shocking announcement which raises questions, while we have been waiting since June for the name of the new artistic director of the house of Chanel. For her part, Celine does not indicate at this stage when a successor will be named.
