When you pass in front of the window of Un Notre monde, a boutique, opened in September, in Villedieu-les-Poêles, you inevitably stop. Because the objects, the paintings, each more colorful than the other, attract, and thewe want to see even more.

A very colorful store

At the origin of this extraordinary store, an atypical couple of artistsformed by Véronique Williams and Sébastien Mackowiak.

If their supports and their inspirations are different, their works combine perfectlyto immerse you in “One our world”very festive and colorful.

“Our worlds are a bit like the two of us, they match,” says Sébastien, with a smile.

A festive second life for Playmobil®

The latter specializes in revisiting large Playmobil® figurines, which now swap their boring clothes for a little more funky outfits.

We think of the grunge Playmobil®, with its guitar that really works, the one completely repainted in gold, or the clown, matched with a painting by Véronique.

“I also create expanding foam monsters,” explains the person who wants to “invite people to return to their childhood.” A successful bet!

Highlight female artists

For her part, Véronique calls herself a “multitasking artist”, since she works on many media, but always with a feminine touch.

Teapots and hearts in padded fabric, collages, canvases… Véronique and a jack of all trades.

At the moment, she is devoting herself to a project that she has been leading for some time now: the creation of 150 portraits of women artists. She says: “These are women that I have met during my life or who came to me when they heard about the idea. »

Mostly unknown women of the general public. “We’re seeing more and more representations of famous artists like Frida Kahlo, and that’s great, but I wanted to highlight those that we know less about. »

A book bringing together all the portraitsand a description for each person, will be self-published soon. In the meantime, you too can have your portrait taken by the visual artist.

Workshops to meet and interact with customers

After introducing their customers to their world, at home, in a room/showroom, the self-taught people wanted to have a storefront, to be able to “meet new people and talk with them”. So, curious, don’t hesitate to walk through the door of this new store, where workshops for children and adults will soon be offered.

A good way for artists to share their know-how as much as possiblein a warm atmosphere.

Hours: Tuesday to Saturday, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., and more by appointment.
