CULTURE – Double good news for their fans. The group Oasis announced this Monday, September 30, new dates for their reunion tour. After 17 concert dates in the United Kingdom and Ireland, the Gallagher brothers will perform their hits in North America, the United States and Canada. And this time, ticket sales look less chaotic.

Indeed, Oasis announced on its social networks that it was abandoning the dynamic pricing system that it had used during its previous ticket sales. Dynamic pricing consists of adjusting the selling price in real time to consumer demand: the stronger this is for a given product, the more the price increases.

Thus, during the first sale of tickets for Oasis Live ’25, fans were furious to find themselves faced with prices two to three times higher than expected, after having waited a long time in front of their screens. For example, some tickets initially priced at around 150 pounds (178 euros) were ultimately offered at more than 350 pounds.

“Ticketmaster’s dynamic pricing model will not be applied to upcoming ticket sales for Oasis concerts in North America”declared Oasis this Monday, September 30. “It is widely accepted that dynamic pricing remains a useful tool to combat the sale of tickets on the street and keep prices for a significant proportion of fans below the market level and therefore more affordable”explained the group.

“However, when demand for tickets is unprecedented (the entire tour could be sold several times over by the time tickets go on sale) and technology is unable to meet this demand, this tool loses its value. efficiency and can lead to an unacceptable experience for fans,” recognized the legendary Britpop group. “We have made this decision for the North American tour to avoid a repeat of the issues fans have experienced recently in the UK and Ireland”he concluded.

Pre-sale tickets will be available from 10 p.m. (12 p.m. EST) on October 3, and the box office will open on October 4. Registered persons will be selected randomly to access ticket sales, via a drawing system, specifies the Daily Mail. During this process, potential fans will be asked questions about the group, allowing them to proceed if answered correctly.
