After Un Triomphe in 2020, Emmanuel Courcol returns to the 2024 Cannes Film Festival with En Fanfare, in the Cannes Première selection. The film is expected in theaters on November 27, 2024.
Emmanuel Courcol, screenwriter films by Philippe Lioret (including that of Welcome which was nominated for the César for best original screenplay) and Édouard Bergeon (In the name of the Earth et The Green Promise) presents his third feature-length fiction film, A Fanfarein section Cannes Premiere of Cannes Film Festival 2024.
The story is that of Thibaut, a renowned conductor. Suffering from leukemia, he sets out to find a compatible donor for a bone marrow transplant. Learning on this occasion that he is an adopted child, he discovers the existence of an older brother in the North. The latter, a modest employee, is also a trombonist in a municipal band that is in the process of being dissolved. Against the backdrop of the closure of the only factory in the town, their meeting marks the beginning of a fraternal, social and musical adventure…
A Fanfare will gather, in front of the camera, Benjamin Lavernhe (Abbé Pierre – A life of struggles), Pierre Lottin (The Night of the 12th) and Sarah Suco.
This is the second time thatEmmanuel Courcol walks the red carpet as directorafter the presentation of his film at the 2020 Cannes Film Festival A Triumphwith Kad Merad.
