Deadpool 3: Deleted Scene From Film Reveals Gambit’s Fate

And Deadpool & Wolverine has been full of cameos, the fate of many of these guest characters in the latest Marvel film was not necessarily sealed after its end credits. Ryan Reynolds, however, gave an update on one of them on social media by posting a short deleted scene from the film revealing that Gambit, played by Channing Tatum, is alive and well.

Towards a return of Gambit?

At the end of Deadpool & Wolverinethere is no indication whether the allies of the two characters played by Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman survived the battle against Cassandra Nova’s (Emma Corrin) henchmen. So we don’t know what happens to Elektra ( Garner), Blade (Wesley Snipes) and Laura/X23 (Dafne Keen). But thanks to Reynolds, we now know that Gambit is doing well.

The scene below shows him from behind, walking among defeated opponents. He then turns to face the camera and we can see in the reflection of his eyes the appearance of an interdimensional portal, like the one that allowed Deadpool and Wolverine to escape from the Void. An open door to a return of Gambit in the MCU?

Marvel has not announced plans to make a Gambit movie or have him appear in another project, but the fact that he survived Deadpool & Wolverine indicates, however, that these possibilities should not be ruled out.

In fact, Tatum spent years trying to get a film about the Cajun mutant off the ground, but the project failed to see the light of day until Disney bought 20th Century Fox. Deadpool & Wolverine So it was finally his chance to bring Gambit to life.

In an interview with Varietythe actor also stressed that he was ready to reprise the role: “I’ve been saying I wanted to do this for 10 years. Now it’s in Bob Iger’s hands. [le patron de Disney] and Kevin Feige [le boss de Marvel Studios]. I pray to the Lord.”
