Season 2 of The Acolyte was cancelled due to lack of ratings and season 2 of Free from Boba Fett suffered the same fate for the same reasons. The agenda Star Wars remains very busy for Disney, however. Several series are arriving or returning to Disney+ (LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy, Skeleton Crew by the end of 2024, with already a trailer, seasons 2 ofAndor et Ahsoka normally in 2025), as well as several films still in development (the animated film Star Wars : A Droid Story et Star Wars : Lando).
The series The Mandalorian, she will come back then in less than two years in the form of a feature film (and normally for a season 4), after the success of the first three seasons. The absence of Boba Fett in the film has also been definitively confirmed. We already knew that Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni will return to the service of the screenplay and direction in the case of Favreau, and that Pedro Pascal will continue to play the main character, accompanied by Steven Blum. And the arrival of another star in the cast already has us salivating.

Sigourney Weaverwho has just confirmed that she will be in Avatar 4 et 5also indicated to Deadline on the occasion of his Honorary Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival thatshe will be in The Mandalorian & Groguwhose filming has started:

We can say that it was a good move on Disney’s part.which is counting on several stars to bring back Star Wars at the top of the box office, while the last three installments, of very uneven quality (we remember a catastrophic ninth episode), had broken many records. Pedro Pascal, at the top of his success, and Sigourney Weaver are also excellent actors and this is therefore very good news for the film. It is also quite exciting to see that the actress is chaining projects, in the theater, on platforms and even in the cinema.
If the film The Mandalorian & Grogu looks very exciting on paper, Disney has curiously planned it at the same time as the release of the tenth opus of the saga, Star Wars: New Jedi Orderstill with Daisy Ridley in the role of Rey. Either the 20th of 2026possibly with a premiere in Cannes as for Solo : a Star Wars Story. But by then, things have time to change of course.
