The fifth edition of the Copa Chenel will bring together 18 toros matadors with representatives from Spain, Mexico, France, Portugal and Ecuador. It is organized by the Toro de Lidia Foundation and the Madrid Region. Candidates for selection in this competition for the promotion of bullfighters must meet four criteria: having taken the alternative after 2010, not being among the first 20 in the 2024 escalafon, not having more than three bullfights in bullrings first category in France and Spain and have never participated in the Copa Chenel.
After a qualifying round with six bullfights in bullrings in the Comunidad de Madrid, nine bullfighters will qualify for the three races of the second phase. The best six will then go to the semi-finals, like Christian Parejo last year, with a final with three matadors. The two best will compete for the 2025 title at the end of a final mano a mano and the winner will earn his place for a prestigious cartel in the Madrid bullring at the end of the period.
