And it was all the less won since Hugh Jackman had bowed out of the role 7 years ago, in the very successful Logan (2017).
The 1980 piece is a tribute to Bon Scott, the singer of the group who died following an ethyl coma, a few months earlier.

But no question of honoring Scott’s memory with a sound from a library of sound effects! AC/DC therefore decides to find a real bell.
After many unsuccessful tests, the group has one of 1 ton, bronze – still used today on stage.
But as it is not ready at the time of the album, the group sends 15 microphones to the foundry to capture what exists. The recording is then mixed and slowed down to ring, no longer as a 1 ton bell, but like a 2 tonne … even more disturbing.
And in the cinema, too, it all works very well!
