The city’s seniors club warmly thanks the municipality for the traditional meal offered for several years now, to the club’s members, who came in large numbers. Francine Camerin, president, and the club’s volunteers had the great pleasure of receiving Serge Jop, mayor, surrounded by numerous municipal councilors including Dominique Faure, scattered across tables to share discussions with the citizens. The Mayor warmly thanked the members for their presence and thanked Francine Camerin, president, for her commitment to the club for a year, succeeding André Casenave who took a well-deserved leave of absence after twenty-five years of presidency. After the thanks, Francine Camerin, on behalf of everyone “wished to highlight the exceptional event which takes place every year within the club”. Speaking to Yvonne, present in the room, she sent her a very nice message and wished her a happy birthday to thunderous applause. Yvonne, now one hundred and two years old, has been a faithful and active member for many years. Good foot, good eye, she got up and approached the mayor who offered her a very pretty bouquet accompanied by warm words thanking her for her presence, her energy, her tenacity: “Our best wishes for the years to come “. The meal carefully prepared by the city’s central kitchens was served on tablecloths and decorated with very pretty bouquets made by the skilful little hands of the club and brought to life by the friendly members in songs, Alain, with his talent as a singer, performed a cappella a song by Nougaro with his warm and velvety voice. These were moments of joy, carefreeness, sharing and great happiness, being able to meet and tell each other about the personal events of the year that has just passed. The club thanks the city for offering this wonderful moment to seniors who are very attached to their club, which is always very lively with almost daily, diverse and varied activities ranging from culture, sports, manual activities, various games including competitions. belote open to everyone outside the club two Friday evenings per month.
