“Tourbillons 1900”: this was the theme of this 2025 edition of the Nuit du Conservatoire. And it was indeed a waltz full of emotions and unexpected things that awaited the participants.
At the very heart of the museum, throughout the rooms, staircases, corners and even up to the attic, musicians, actors and dancers, dressed in tails, top hats, and improbable mustaches, brought to life aesthetic universes ranging from Cabaret Le Chat Noir to fairground huts, including the birth of Mélies’ cinema. Enough to invite each visitor on a poetic and metaphorical stroll, at the very heart of the artistic works on display. From the fortune teller, to the wheel of fortune, via the Antipodists and the Seven Daughters of Tritons, all the essential ingredients were there. Even the secret of happiness has been revealed…
