The Morat Festival of Lights, in the canton of Fribourg, attracted more than 63,000 visitors in “ideal” weather conditions, the organizers said on Sunday. This 9th edition was devoted to the theme of myths and legends.
The event, which ended on Sunday, benefited from very mild weather, say the organizers, who speak of a “great success” in a press release. The second week of the Festival was particularly well attended, with a full Saturday.
In total, 25 artists from seven countries presented 21 arteplages in the medieval city and on the shores of Lake Murten. The Sound & Light show “Legends” has been presented live 56 times in the German church.
Last year, the festival already attracted more than 63,000 visitors. The 10th anniversary edition of the Murten Light Festival will take place from January 21 to February 1, 2026.
