The four actresses of the Brunes collective met ten years ago, during their studies at the National Conservatory of the Rouen Theater. Their complicity began within Cie Morituri te salutant, founded by Kim Verschuren and Lorraine Kerlo-Aurégan, before becoming, when Héléna Nondier and Morgane El Ayoubi joined them, the Brunes collective, first based in Rouen, then Paris.
Then the arrival of the Covid crisis marks the return to her hometown of Lorraine, the only Morlaisian in the troop: “I returned to contacts, felt that there were lots of possibilities in Morlaix, and the other girls , for having come to see me, had also attached themselves to the city ”. The city of the viaduct becomes the collective home port.
“The desire to create our own shows”
“Brunes, at the base, rewind Lorraine Kerlo-Aurégan, it was four actresses who decided to come together to pool the skills of each and create their own shows. In Héléna and Morgane, writing, Kim, music and scenography, and me, dance. To this was added our desire to carry out projects with amateurs, volunteers, in connection with the territory. This is how they accompanied, two years ago, a group of young people from 13 to 20 years old in the creation of a show, as part of the “My place” project, on the initiative of the MJC.
“A work of a year and a half, punctuated by sessions of reflection, collective writing, micro-handton and improvisations, continues Héléna Nondier, until building an intimate spectacle, which explores the meanders of adolescence And friendship, with behind, not easy subjects such as mourning, tolerance … “
This project was concluded with a week of residence, then three public performances for young people, “who were able to overcome their fears of revealing themselves to their relatives”, salute their elders of the Brunes collective.
Feminists in small touches
A long -term process, “which [les] In nourishes and made the desire to make a show intended for young people, but all audiences. The material we drew there drew the main themes: Héléna and Morgane wrote several scenes for their side, we found ourselves to organize things with eight hands, then the duo returned to writing … “
From these creative round trips was born the play “asteroid, after the sound signal”, or “the look at the world of two young girls that everything opposes, who questions how they feel, what weapons they have, when this world does not necessarily leave room… ”, summarizes Lorraine Kerléo-Aurégan, who ensures its staging.
-Can we qualify their theater as a committed and feminist? “The answer is yes, but we do not highlight this aspect,” she nuances. We are a troop led by four women: from the start, it is not trivial. »»
“We talk about it, it is discussed, but it is not the heart of our pieces,” adds Héléna Nondier, it is rather a subject present by touches, by mirror effect, echoing the news: States -Unis, right to abortion or conditions of women in Afghanistan… ”.
“Asteroid” New version to discover on February 13
Their “asteroid” show, “created first in its all -terrain version, a light form that can go everywhere in colleges, high schools”, was played at the end of December 2024 at the MJC. “We wanted it funny, moving, as complete as possible, with different levels of reading: people were affected. And the young people-those thanks to whom the project became asteroid-found small ends of themselves: it was the closure of a cycle. »»
And for the brunettes, the beginning of another step, to “give it a more elaborate spectacle form, with decorations, light creations and a different scenography”. The result will be to be discovered, at the opening of residence, on February 13, 2025, at 3 p.m., in the Dour Dour Méner of Plestin-les-Grèves (free and open to all).
