Angered by various people who were against the vaccine during the pandemic, PA Méthot found it less funny when he received death threats and messages about his teenage daughter. “There, I was scared,” he told the podcast Mike Ward Listening.
At the start of the pandemic, PA Méthot initially took lightly the comments he received from people who did not share his positions on the vaccine. “I found it amusing to answer them,” he said in an episode of the podcast with Mike Ward and Jean-François Mercier. Since we were in a pandemic, we weren’t doing a show and it was practicing my repartee. Except that at some point, it crossed the line. I’ve had death threats. They threatened to rape my daughter.”
“At 4 a.m., I received a photo of my house in my trunk box,” he continues. Two days later, I received a photo from my daughter’s school. There, I was afraid. For two days, I was stressed. I was walking around with an ax in my hands at home. I had cameras installed throughout the property and the house. It was very complicated.”
Push the concept
-After receiving threats, PA Méthot says he “went completely crazy with that”. He started researching people who were sending him hateful messages. “I had paintings at home. I’m fired CSI PA.»
Because Internet users called him satanic, PA Méthot decided to push the note to the maximum. In 2022, when Prime Video approached him to offer him a carte blanche concept with the show For one evening onlythe comedian had fun.
“When they asked me what my concept would be, I said I wanted to do this about secret societies. Everyone was in robes with masks. For the press conference, I bought an Illuminati shirt and a Freemason ring on Amazon. In every photo they took of me, I made a triangle with my hands. I looked for them at the end. They tell me to be patient now because they know that I am a esti sick! [rires]»
