The Basse-Terre Administrative Court has rendered its decision concerning the elimination of Olivier Nicolas's employee position for the Péyi Gwadloup group. The decision of Ary Chalus, the president of the Region, of October 29, 2024 is suspended.
Olivier Nicolas, whose position as employee of the Péyi Gwadloup group was to end on January 31, 2025, won his case with the Court. At the origin of the matter, a decision of the President of the Region dated October 29 taken for budgetary reasons but without deliberation of the Assembly. The hearing was held this Thursday.
This decision is therefore suspended by the court which also orders Ary Chalus to re-examine the situation of Oliver Nicolas within five days of notification of this judgment. The Guadeloupe Region is also ordered to pay 1,500 euros to Olivier Nicolas for legal costs.
In condemning the Guadeloupe Region, the court therefore followed the arguments of Olivier Nicolas' lawyer developed during his pleading. For the group collaborator, also first secretary of the Federation of Socialists of Guadeloupe, there was a political settling of scores behind this affair.
