Friday January 31, at 8:30 p.m., Max Boubil will unveil his new show: “Maximilien” (his real first name), at the Espace Brémontier in Arès. He will talk about his long-term relationship, his wife who works too much and him not being close enough to her, his daughters, his adult life, including his fed up with his students’ parents.
“This show is the most personal of my career. At first, I didn’t imagine that a performance could be approached other than as a series of jokes. » After being over forty, he decided to propose a concrete concept by opening up about his personal life. He keeps this appearance of an eternal kid, “a guy of forty who looks thirty”, as he says, but in “Maximilien” he takes stock of half of his life.
Let go
“In this show, I assert myself as a man of my age, father of two daughters, in a relationship with a powerful woman,” he says. He reveals his life as an anguished adult which becomes a source of laughter. “We’re going to have a laugh, but with total sincerity and a letting go that I’ve never explored so much in my career,” he confides. “Telling yourself on stage and giving your truth are not complicated steps if we manage to sweep away the state of mind that tells us not to be sincere. I won’t talk to you about politics, because I know nothing about it, but I will tell you about my quirky and slightly frosty parents, because I know them well. I can’t wait to tell you all about this. I hope you do too. »
-Max Boubil has come a long way since his first appearances on television.
