It starts today [France 2] : a week dedicated to the theme of mental health – Face Face

From January 20 to 24, It starts today hosted by Faustine Bollaert, devotes a special week to mental health. During these five shows, witnesses will recount their experiences dealing with depression, psychiatric disorders and even suicide. A major national cause of the year 2025, this public health issue affects nearly one in 5 people in France.

Affecting all ages and social backgrounds, mental illnesses and psychological disorders affect around 13 million people. In this context, the Government has decided to make this issue a major national cause after physical and sporting activity. To return to this question, It starts today has chosen to devote a special week to mental health through different themes.

Help break taboos

Among the witnesses, Dominique Daumard, president of the Mental Health and Inclusion (SPI) association located in Semur-en-Auxois. As she tells it in an interview with Bien Public, she testifies about the mental illness, schizophrenia, from which she has suffered for many years. “Welcoming their stories and their struggles is a way of helping to break taboos and informing the public about the importance of taking care of their mental health”recalls the production of It begins today in a press release.

On the set, psychiatrists Laurent Karila and Florian Ferreri, regular speakers on the show, will provide their advice to the guests. They will supplement the testimonies with accessible scientific explanations and concrete examples.
