In Auray, five poetic, funny or bloody shows that make us want to go to Méliscenes

Between theater, puppetry and live music, Simon Delattre returns with a show in which he traces the thread of his personal history to question the figure of the father and the family. The show is based on a succession of short scenes covering almost a century: a child, named Enki, travels through this temporal landscape in order to better understand her origins.

From 14 years old. Duration: 1 hour 45 minutes

How many women have been ignored, forgotten, prevented? This is the question that Zoé Grossot asks herself, in a single-on-scene where she unearths portraits of women with extraordinary destinies, whom our history has erased. A journey between continents and eras that gives pride of place to women and their diversity. A collective celebration to which she invites the public with kindness and humor.

From 11 years old. Duration: 1 hour 20 minutes

  • Path of metaphors

Juan Perez Escala, renowned puppeteer, invites the viewer to take the time to dream and marvel. This self-taught jack-of-all-trades recounts the initiatory journey of an old man who, through encounters and adventures, will learn to consider the world with a new perspective. In a stage set-up that evokes an abandoned funfair, the public embarks on a magical and poetic universe, conducive to contemplation.

  • Paper plane

The La Méandre collective combines video, live music and object theater in a caravan to invent a miniature universe, brilliantly cobbled together and enchanting. Inside this micro-cinema, the viewer is immersed in a sort of living comic book whose characters escape the frame and wander around the setting. Mechanical inventions clank and bubbles swirl, while the musical host juggles various instruments.

  • The manekin

La Compagnie La Pendue returns to Auray with an adaptation of the medieval tale La manékine, which tells the story of a young girl whose hands are cut off to satisfy the devil, thus taking away her freedom to act for herself. The heroine will then embark on an initiatory journey, in search of her freedom. A fable from yesterday to evoke the women of today. A poetic and current puppet show.

From 9 years old. Duration: 1 hour 10 minutes

After the shows Tria Fata and Poli dégaine, hosted at the 2017 Méliscenes Festival, the La Pendue company returns to Auray with a show that is both bloody and luminous.
