Simon Astier plays “Le Discours” by Fabcaro at the Théâtre de : a show that “allowed him to grow”

It’s a very common family dinner, studded with habits and ready-made phrases crumbled on the tablecloth, between the plates and the relationships.

Adrien, with deflated heart and joy, waits for a response from Sonia, his partner who told him that she wanted to take a break. “Hello Sonia, I hope you are well. Kisses ! », he wrote to her at 5:24 p.m. It’s after 8 p.m., and still nothing…

And now he is asked to imagine a “wonderful” speech for the wedding of his sister, the one who gives him an encyclopedia every year for Christmas.

“It’s your best friend talking to you”

Adapted from the famous novel by Fabcaro (published in 2018), this only play by Simon Astier brings to the table the existential chaos of a disillusioned forty-year-old. Adrien cuts through big obstacles and small annoyances with the blade of his lucidity, covers his slices of life with humor and delicacy and superimposes emotions like the different layers of a gratin dauphinois.
