Sophie Thibault wanted to give her news, after several viewers wrote to her, having noticed her absence at the helm of the VAT 17h.

On Thursday January 16 evening, the anchor wanted to reassure the public about her absence from the small screen, she who is there every day.
In an Instagram post published at the end of the evening, Sophie Thibault explained that she was not present due to treatments for her skin, “to prevent a return of possible cancers”. She’s fine, but she just needs to get some rest.
Fortunately, she also revealed the date of her return to the air: January 27.

Remember that it was in April 2023 that we learned that the woman who is also a photographer was suffering from skin cancer which forced her to temporarily step away from the cameras. After surgery and plastic reconstruction, she returned behind her desk, a month later, to present the news to Quebecers.
