And four for Msaryaf’Mdina! – Today Morocco

This new event, which benefits from the support of artists, associative actors, influencers or simple Tangier residents on social networks, aims to breathe new life into tourist and commercial activities in the old medina.

Msaryaf’Mdina returns for its fourth edition in the strait city, on February 1 and 2, under the theme “YallaVamos 2030”. This new meeting aims to breathe new life into tourist and commercial activities in Tangier intramural. Like the three previous editions, Msaryaf’Mdina 2025 benefits from the support of artists, athletes, associative actors, influencers or simple Tangier residents on social networks. “Through this message, I am addressing the residents of Tangier and visitors to this beautiful city to invite them to go and see the old medina, to discover the way of life and the shops,… All, hand in hand, to support the traders and encourage tourism in Tangier,” said Moroccan raï singer Rachid Berriah in a video shared on social networks.
The choice of the main theme of this fourth edition affirms Morocco’s desire and the enthusiasm of its citizens to succeed in the challenge of organizing the two major events, the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations and the 2030 World Cup.

Guided tours
As usual, this new meeting will be rich in activities for the benefit of visitors, including guided tours to the different commercial districts as well as the main cultural and historical sites of Tangier intramural. Supervised by experts in the history of the city of the strait, these guided tours begin from the famous historic Place du 9 Avril or the Grand Socco and continue through the mazes of the ancient city and its small Socco up to the Kasbah. . This will allow visitors to discover numerous cultural, tourist and religious sites, which are part of the myth of Tangier. Among which are those who benefited from a major renovation and restoration operation, as part of the rehabilitation and enhancement program for the old Medina. Thus, these visits will play a role in revitalizing commerce in the famous intramural districts. Like that of Souk Dakhal which is very famous for the Hispano-Moorish architecture of its few old buildings, bazaars, cafes and restaurants.

Craze of foreign visitors
The organizers of this fourth edition – which coincides with the first weekend in February – aim to attract a large number of visitors. This helps boost sales for traders, whose clothing and craft items as well as traditional dishes are popular among foreign visitors.
Note that this edition is also distinguished by the programming to the great delight of contemporary art lovers of the “Circuit Matisse”, aiming to shed light on a series of works by the famous French painter Henri Matisse which are inspired in their entirety of his stay in Tangier.
Remember that this initiative was created in 2022, as a sign of support and solidarity with the traders and artisans of the old medina, who suffered a drop in their sales, linked to the Covid-19 health crisis. They have since struggled to return to their pre-pandemic pace, due to the fact that the majority of their customers are foreign tourists.
