The Geneva Lux festival once again lights up the harbor. On the theme “Myths and legends”, 24 works, including fifteen new ones, can be admired from this Friday until February 2. These luminous artistic creations are lit every evening from 5:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. “There will be added performances and artistic strolls on the weekend,” said Marie Barbey-Chpuis, administrative advisor for the City of Geneva. Thus, a nighttime ballet, combining lasers and flyboard performances, will be performed above the waters of Lake Geneva on January 17 and 18, while the People of Lights will parade on January 24 and 25.

The goal: “to create a poetic and magical atmosphere in the heart of winter” and “to bring art into public space” while reinforcing the attractiveness of the Harbor. The festival attracts thousands of Genevans as well as tourists every year. “The success of this popular and free event goes far beyond borders. A delegation is coming specially from Helsinki (Finland) to discover this edition,” the magistrate proudly announced. She also noted the enthusiasm for Geneva Lux on social networks.
