Readers of the “Vent de mots” association are launching their literary year under the sign of Heritage.

Vent de mots volunteers will begin their literary year on Saturday January 25, from 3 to 4 p.m., at the municipal media library. Every month, the readers of this Balmese association devote themselves to the subtle art of reading aloud. Guided by a theme or by their personal inspirations, they share extracts from their favorite works. Over the years, these free sessions have attracted a large audience.

Vent de mots also takes part in various events: exhibitions, trade fairs, inaugurations… “At the beginning, we were pioneers. Because there weren’t many readings aloud at the time. That means a lot to me. came while I was following training on reading aloud, which was organized at the library. I liked it so much that I suggested to the people who were present that they get together in a reading group”, recalls Marie. -Queen Lebrun-Benoit, founder in 2007 of the association currently chaired by Isabelle Sneed.

Reading Nights

The session scheduled for Saturday January 25 will revolve around readings on Heritage, the theme chosen by the Nights of Reading 2025. The 9th edition of this event, organized by the National Book Center at the suggestion of the Ministry of Culture, will take place on French territory from January 23 to 26. Family, collective, cultural, real estate, scientific, religious, natural heritage… For an hour, the voices of Vent de mots readers will bring these facets of heritage to life.

Then, Saturday February 15 between 3 and 4 p.m., the association will orchestrate a session under the color of Love. “Readings on this theme are always very successful, showing that love always carries the weight,” recalls Françoise, secretary of Vent de mots. Other very popular readings are those presented as part of International Women’s Rights Day, entitled “Liberty, Equality, Sisterhood”. They will take place on Sunday March 9 at 4 p.m. in the Salle des Mourlingues (17 avenue du Calvel in Balma).
