Well-known graphic artists in , AkirOvitch and Dan 23 have united their talents to create a new artistic space in the European capital. An art gallery and concept store, L’Appart 120 will offer carefully chosen works and objects and will change its skin every three months.

If you don’t know their names, you certainly know their works. In Strasbourg, AkirOvitcH’s graphic letters and Dan 23’s animal portraits are displayed on the walls, bridge piers and electrical cabinets in the city center. At the end of January, it will also be possible to find them at 120 Grand’Rue, in a unique place designed by the two artists.

« L’Appart 120 is the result of a human and friendly collaboration between Dan and meretrace AkirOvitcH. Dan addresses ecology and the pictorial in his work. I’m more into letters. We designed this project by mixing our respective and complementary worlds. »

Concept store, art gallery and laboratory

Divided into two spaces, L’Appart 120 will be both an art gallery and a concept store where all objects are for sale. “Our problem is that we are passionate about a lot of things”sourit AkirOvitcH. We see this apartment as a kind of laboratory where we try to bring together everything that interests us. The goal is for it to suit us. »

« Mour idea is to take advantage of this space to provide documentation and help raise real awareness of ecological issues”adds Dan 23. The artist is notably preparing the installation of a pesticide-free grain library and educational panels. “In the city, there is only one sentence accompanying my paintings. There I will be able to develop »explains the graphist, who is delighted to be able to use art as a tool, a vector of information and awareness.

An open place

, art, design, graphics, pedagogy… Appart 120 promises to mix many areas of interest. “What can bring people to cross the threshold is the curiosity of discovering a rather atypical placejudge AkirOvitch. The place will move quite regularly; we plan to repaint it every three to four months and offer new atmospheres, new themes according to our gaming passions.r. We also want to invite roommates to exhibit and express themselves. » Graphic designers, illustrators, tattoo artists… artists from all backgrounds.

To carry out this project, the two artists launched crowdfunding at the beginning of January. In a few days, 40 donors enabled them to reach their initial objective of 3,000 euros to furnish the place, program events and offer prints and other objects linked to the world of the two creators.
