After Jacquemus in January 2024, it is the turn of Marine Serre to sign a collaboration with Repetto. The French designer known for her sustainable approach reinterprets the timeless ballerina by reinterpreting Lilouh and Camille, two flagship shoe models from the French brand from the world of dance, which will be marketed from January 20.
“As a child, I was captivated by the elegant style of Repetto ballerinas. What’s more, they were made near my home in Saint Médard d’Excideuil. For my sister and I, it was magical to visit this factory, which gave us introduces you to the world of craftsmanship”, comments Marine Serre in a press release, who says she is delighted to see her signature Moon print adorning these emblematic shoes.
The half-moon, used since the beginning by the designer, appears as if embossed, on the front of the Lilouh ballerinas, a model recognizable by its more enveloping edges and its oval neckline. This is available in black, red, white and silver and is sold at a price of 370 euros.
Marine Serre’s famous printed pattern is found on the Camille ballerina, which is enhanced with a discreet heel compared to the iconic Cendrillon ballerina. It is offered in red, black and white patent leather and denim fabric at a price of 390 euros.
Everything is made using the sew-and-turn method in the Repetto workshops in Dordogne.
“We are very pleased to collaborate with Marine Serre, a brand whose creativity and commitment to more responsible fashion perfectly echo our heritage and know-how. This collection is a celebration of craftsmanship and “innovation”, says Managing Director Charlotte Gaucher-Holmann. She took over from her father, Jean-Marc Gaucher, president and owner of Repetto, who died in May 2023.
