In the show Sept à Huit, broadcast on TF1 on Sunday January 12, Anne revealed that she had been the victim of a huge scam. While she thought she was having a love affair with Brad Pitt, she sent more than 800,000 euros to identity thieves.

For almost a year and a half, Anne, a 53-year-old woman, thought she was having a long-distance relationship with Brad Pitt. In a testimony broadcast on the TF1 show Sept à Huit, Sunday January 12, the interior designer revealed that she had been contacted in February 2022 by Jane Etta Pitt, a woman claiming to be the actor’s mother. “It’s a woman like you that my son needs”the unknown woman would then have told him. The next day, Anne is contacted again, this time by a man pretending to be Brad Pitt.

While going through a difficult period emotionally, the victim fell into the trap set by what we call gutterers – scammers who play with the feelings of their victims to extract money from them on the networks social. “I had someone in front of me who was interested in me and my work because my own husband wasn’t even interested in my work”she revealed on TF1, specifying that she regularly received very touching poems: “There are so few men who write you this kind of thing. I liked the man I was talking to. He knew how to talk to women.”

830,000 euros in damage

During this scam, the grazers tried everything: sending photos and videos generated by AI, marriage proposals, requesting an advance for medical expenses or even reimbursement for customs fees for gifts… This is not the case. is that in the fall of 2023, when the real Brad Pitt appears with his new partner, that Anne realizes the deception. In total, she lost her house and nearly 830,000 euros. “I wonder why I was chosen to hurt myself like that. I’ve never hurt anyone in my life. These people deserve hell,” she confided, devastated. Today, Anne, who has made no less than three suicide attempts, is closely monitored by a specialized establishment for serious depression.
