LOTTO. Roxanne Zengarli and Steeven Daudelin became millionaires live on television Sunday evening, during the Célébration 2025 gala broadcast on TVA.
Drummondvillois were among the 45 winners of the gala’s television participation. Ms Zengarli was appointed to represent the couple.
“To be very honest, we haven’t formed too many ideas, we stay down to earth, we let ourselves be guided and we’ll see,” said point blank the one who is an administrative agent at the CIUSSS of Mauricie-et-du-Centre-du-Québec, just before the draw.
It was necessary to repeat her number, 11, for the new millionaire to realize that she was the big winner. She literally jumped for joy on the stage of the Casino du Lac-Leamy theater
After a few seconds full of emotion, host Sébastien Benoit asked the lovers the question again: “I know it’s all fresh, you are now millionaires, what do we do with this money?”
“We’re going to do good for the world,” the happy winners responded with a broad smile, moved and in shock.
-The lucky ticket was purchased by Mr. Daudelin at the IGA Extra grocery store on Saint-Joseph Boulevard in Drummondville. The man was doing some last-minute shopping there for a romantic Christmas Eve dinner. He presented it to his better half along with earrings which were worn by Ms Zengarli on Sunday.
In addition to winning the jackpot of one million dollars, Roxanne Zengarli won $50,000, as part of Loto-Québec’s We win by giving back program. The same amount was paid to the Drummond Food Comptoir, an organization that is close to her heart and that she had previously selected.
Reached by phone a few minutes after receiving the good news, the general director of the Food Comptoir, Véronique Sawyer, was over the moon. “I wasn’t listening to the gala. Suddenly, both of my cell phones started ringing! I thought it must be really important! I didn’t know we were chosen, because I don’t know her at all.
It falls from the sky. We have not yet quantified the losses related to the donation envelopes that were taken from the mail due to the postal strike, but this $50,000 will make up for the lost amount. I’m really moved. I just can’t wait to thank her in person and tell her how much it is appreciated that she thought of sharing this happiness with the Food Counter and all the users. We won too!”
Two other Drummondvillois were among the lucky ones: Yoan Vachon and his brother, Shaun, received a Célébration 2025 ticket from their grandfather. They pocketed a considerable amount of $75,000.
