This year again, on the occasion of the 52e edition of the Angoulême festival, the National Library of is getting into the spirit of the ninth . From January 20 to February 21, the reading rooms offer an overview of the BnF’s rich comic book collections, through selections of recent albums and heritage works.

On the Richelieu website, the BnF offers you experience the Angoulême Festival in the room Ovale. From January 20 to February 21, you will be able to discover a selection of the albums in competition for the Fauves 2025. This selection will be accessible from January 17 on the Salle Ovale website.

On the François-Mitterrand site, the reading rooms of the Public Library will present varied selections. Will thus be proposed, in salle Ba selection of freely accessible cartoon reports on ecological and environmental themes, echoing the second session of the cycle “Comics in all its states”, which will welcome the author Étienne Lécroart, in the Oval room, on Thursday 13 FEBRUARY.

The room D will offer a thematic choice of the latest editorial news in economics, management, law and political science. A table in salle H will present a selection of French and French-speaking comics, with an emphasis on authors selected by the Festival. Finally, heritage works will be presented in windows in room C et in salle Iwhich will be invested by the Rare Reserve and which will also highlight the selection of comics in the running for the 2025 Youth Grand Prix.

This year, it is Spain which is being honored by the Angoulême Festival. The Literature and Art and Philosophy, History and Human Sciences departments will therefore offer two focuses: salle F and the room J will provide you with selections of comic strips linked to Spain, while the salle Gdedicated to world literature, will place a particular focus on the world of Spanish comics.
