Concert by rapper Kaaris at La Défense Arena: at least two spectators victims of injections

A man wearing surgical gloves and his face partly hidden by a hood. This is the description of the suspect that the police tried, in vain, to find this Saturday evening after the rapper Kaaris’ concert at the Défense Arena. But in the middle of 27,500 spectators, you might as well look for a needle in a haystack. It was he, in any case, who allegedly stung at least two people in the public, we learned from a police source.

The report was given around 10:10 p.m., about an hour after the start of the performance of the rapper from (Seine-Saint-Denis). The two victims who reported claimed to have been stung in the thigh. If one did not wish to be taken care of by the emergency services – she even returned to enjoy the show after a visit to the infirmary – the other was taken to the Max-Fourestier hospital in (Hauts- de-Seine) by the firefighters after feeling unwell. However, his state of health would not cause concern. An investigation into the administration of a harmful substance has been opened.

No major incidents during the show

A large police force (CRS section, anti-crime brigade crews, drone) had been put in place to prevent any problems during this concert, which, overall, went well. Aside from the injection incident, however, around ten people had to be removed from the room following smoke bombs. But otherwise no excess was observed before and after the concert which ended around 11:20 p.m.

The phenomenon of “wild bites” reached its peak in the summer of 2022, fueling the beginnings of psychosis and prompting the organizers of major events to set up special protocols. That year, more than 2,000 complaints were filed across the country. Since then, although we do not have figures on the subject, cases of this type have become rare. In Île-de-, the last known one apparently dates back to last June. Five teenage girls had filed a complaint for injections during the Saint-Maur music festival (Val-de-).
