On Saturday January 18 from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Magalie and Nicolas will welcome Nigel Prentki for a signing in their bookstore Chat’Pitre 32, rue Gambetta. Nigel will come to meet his readers to sign his book, a work of memories between a family album and a discovery guide to the “Life differently” department. Living in Condomois full-time for more than 20 years, Nigel, of English nationality, discovered the Gers with his wife and bought a holiday home there. This becomes his main residence. “I alternated anecdotes and somewhat romanticized memories, with evocations of the history and geography of Gers, the highlights which punctuate the life of the department and even typical expressions, which also makes the book a guide to the use of those who discover the Gers, the English in particular” he underlines. The book exists in two versions, one English and the other French. Looking forward to this meeting with readers, we can bet that the exchanges will be fruitful, particularly with the English community which plays an important role in the department.
