the essential
The Salle des Docks in Cahors has released its program for the first quarter of 2025. Around fifteen dates are on the menu from January 23.
For this first half of 2025, the Salle des Docks, in Cahors, is programming several headliners. Let’s name four of them. The Lotois public will find Soviet suprem on February 1st. The hip-hop punk duo (John Lénin and Sylvester Staline!) opens its 2025 tour in Cahors. In a completely different genre, Fatoumata Diawara will be there in a unique concert on February 14. The artist explores different musical genres (rock, afrobeat, etc.) while continuing to draw inspiration from the traditional Mandinka register. On Friday April 11, the producer duo Synapson will be at the Docks. Last date of this program, Friday May 31: HK, the author of “Danser encore”, for an evening with the feel of a popular ball.

Featured amateur groups
The Docks are not just concert halls. It is also a place of learning and studios to allow amateur groups to find professional conditions. Rehearsing is good but playing is better. So, for the first time, a Studio’s session will bring together four of them on the Docks stage. It will be February 21. On the bill, groups from Lot: Premates (rock), Kokyages (progressive rock), Khaurs (rock) and Silky collective (jazz-funk).
The Docks take part in the Bols d’air du Grand Cahors season, cultural events organized in the surrounding towns and villages. It is in this context that Carmen Maria Vega will perform at the Le Montat village hall on Thursday February 6. Rock singer, stage beast, she plays with incandescent femininity, creates and invents to put on a real show. Second concert, that of Duoud on April 18 at the Mercuès village hall. This duo of musical producers is the first group to have crossed oud with electronic sounds.
All genres of current music can be found at the Docks, including rap. This semester, the room is devoting two evenings to it, programming Furax Barbarossa on January 25 and Chilla on March 27. For more than twenty years, Furax has delivered his dark and poetic texts, electrifying the scenes with his presence. Old-fashioned rap. Chilla is, it should be noted, one of the female faces of the French rap scene. in her titles, she denounces sexism, machismo and ultimately likes to define herself as a humanist. The same genre therefore but two unique rap personalities and two concerts which promise to be very different.
