Successfully launched in January 2024, the Ma Région Virtuose musical event returns from January 24 to 26, 2025. 150 concerts are scheduled throughout the " rel="tag">Pays de la Loire region. “Under the artistic direction by René Martinthis second edition invites you to listen to the most beautiful stories, tales and legends, a theme which promises to nourish our imagination and speak to our child’s soul”, explains the Region. Here is the complete program of this prestigious event Chateaubriant (Loire-Atlantique), one of the partner cities.

150 concerts in Pays de la Loire, with new formats

Classical music will sound everywhere, in the five departments of Pays de la Loire. In total, more than 75 locations will host the Ma Région Virtuose event in 2025. Chateaubriant is one of the cities that will host this second edition.

Of the “outside the walls” concerts are also programmed:

  • on a traveling stage which has crisscrossed 23 rural communes since Friday January 10, 2025 (including Juigné-des-Moutiers, Vallons-de-l’Erdre, Petit-Mars and Blain).
  • in five TER lines of the Aléop network (including the -Châteaubriant tram-train).
  • in around twenty high schools (in Châteaubriant, it will be at the Saint-Joseph private high school).
  • new in 2025, in seven shopping centers and covered markets. Friday January 24 and Saturday January 25, a concert will be given at the E.Leclerc shopping center in Châteaubriant.

“Internationally” renowned

“The City of Châteaubriant is delighted to welcome the internationally renowned musical event Ma Région Virtuose, proposed by the Region. This grand week-end is now fully part of the cultural life of Châteaubriant and the Châteaubriant-Derval Community of Communes”, welcomes the mayor of Châteaubriant and president of the intercommunality, Alain Hunault.

The reception of this event in Châteaubriant “strengthens the cultural policy implemented by the municipality and the Community of Communes, which results in synergistic work within the different cultural facilities »: the intercommunal conservatory, the intercommunal media library with its network of libraries, the Glass Theater and the Micro-folie.

For the mayor, the reception of Ma Région Virtuose constitutes “a real chance for the public ».

Friday January 24

  • 8:30 p.m. at the Glass Theater: Janoska Ensemble “Vivaldi: The Four Seasons – in Janoska style”. Combining classical virtuosity, improvisation and modern interpretation, the Slovak quartet has taken on Vivaldi’s masterpiece, exploiting the major themes to reinterpret them in its unique style, the famous Janoska style. Price: €10.

Saturday January 25

  • 11 a.m. at the Glass Theater: Chorale Méli-Mélo (French song) and Noces de carotte (traditional music). Songs from Perret, Brel, Ferrat and traditional songs await you. Price: €2.
  • 2:30 p.m. at the Glass Theater: Big Band Chopin from Warsaw – Piotr Kostrzewa conducting “Once upon a time there was jazz”. Will be performed: Bolling (Jazzomania), Reinhardt (Nuages), Prévert / Cosma (Les Feuilles Mortes), Gershwin (American in Blues), Legrand (Windmills of your mind), Bechet (Petite Fleur), Bolling (Here Comes the Blues ), Duke (April in Paris) and Gershwin (Strike up the Band). Price: €10.
  • 4 p.m. at the Micro-Folie: conference on the golden age of Finnish art at the twilight of the 19th century. Co-hosted by Nathalie Ilic, Claire Toubon and Pierre-Luc Fourny. Born from the publication, in 1849, of the national epic Kalevala, the Finnish emancipation movement won over artists and composers who, from 1880 onwards, continued to promote their culture. As Finnish music and art took off, it gained an international reputation. FREE ENTRANCE. Reservations recommended (02 40 55 26 02; [email protected]).
  • 6 p.m. at the Glass Theater: Jean-Baptiste Doulcet piano – “Nordic Legends”. A poetic evocation of the universe of the Nordic countries through some works of their most eminent representatives: Grieg, Nielsen, Sibelius, who have in common to tell the folklore, Nature and the landscapes that the great North offers to the eye through the lakes, frost, immense forests and expanses of snow blinded by the sun. Price: €4.
  • 8:30 p.m. at the Glass Theater: Pays de la Loire National Orchestra – under the direction of Henri Aavik. On the program: Beethoven and Symphony No. 6 in F major opus 68 Pastoral. The Sixth Symphony offers a true musical portrait of nature through five movements with evocative titles. Price: €12.

Sunday January 26

  • 10:30 a.m. at the Glass Theater: Ensemble Ventilo, under the direction of Marc Sezestre, and the Municipal Harmony, under the direction of Rémi Lecomte. Works by Bernstein, Mussorgsky, Berlioz… Price: €2.
  • 12:30 p.m. at the Glass Theater: Choirs of the Marches de Bretagne, Masters and vocal ensemble of the conservatory. Works by Whitacre, Saint-Saëns, Elgar, Verdi… Price: €2.
  • 2 p.m. at the Glass Theater: Élodie Fondacci reciter – Sirba Octet. “The Magic Violin” family concert. Price: €10.
  • 3:30 p.m. at the Covered Market: Terra Jazz Sextet. With Terra Perrin (vocals), Philippe Raute (tenor saxophone), Yann Berthoud (trumpet), Alan Garnier (drums), Thierry Macé (piano) and Laurent Charbonnier (bass). Price: €2.
  • 5 p.m. at the Glass Theater: Thomas Lefort (violin) and Pierre-Yves Hodique (piano) for “Shéhérazade”. Will be performed: Stravinsky/Dushkin (Italian suite, from the ballet Pulcinella), De Falla (Spanish dance, excerpt from La Vida Breve), Rimsky-Korsakov/Kreisler (Shéhérazade opus 35, excerpts, Arabic song, oriental dance), Massenet ( Meditation by Thaïs), Kreisler (La Gitana), Schubert (Die Beine (The Bee) opus 13 n°9), Elgar (Chanson de Matin opus 15 n°2) and Debussy (Beau soir, version for violin and piano). Price: €6.
  • 7 p.m. at the Glass Theater: Nantes Philharmonie, under the direction of Frédéric Oster. Will be performed: Anderson (A Christmas Festival), Humperdink (Evening Prayer and Pantomime, from Hansel and Gretel), Appermont (Rapunzel, based on a Grimm tale), Hyldgaard (The Little Match Girl, based on the tale by Andersen) and Elfman (The Nightmare before Christmas).
