The general meeting of the En Daban group took place on Saturday January 4 in Jurançon, in the presence of all its members. During the activity report, the co-president, Christian Sottou, took stock of the past season. A year 2024 that he described as “dense and rich in events”. He highlighted the success achieved by “Un Printemps Béarnais”, at the Atelier du Néez, last April. This concert allowed the Jurançon cultural hall to be sold out.

There was also the meeting in the church of Morlaàs, in October, which was full of spectators, without forgetting the many successful Béarnaise evenings like Siros, Arthez-d’Asson, Arette during the passage of the Olympic flame, Lembeye…

Dozen of creations

The group has also recorded a dozen of its creations. These titles are available on a USB key sold with an explanatory booklet for the benefit of Autisme Béarn Pyrénées. The creations of the group are taking up more and more space in the repertoire. The latter covers popular and traditional Béarnaise songs, punctuated with values ​​of optimism, sharing and respect.

The year 2025 promises to be just as prosperous for En Daban, made up of twenty singers (ten women and ten men). The polyphonies are punctuated by Gabriel Bonahon known as “Gaby”, accordionist, and by Sandrine on guitar, under the direction of Jean-Claude Oustaloup, choir director.

Among the 2025 events, the group will go to , Saturday March 1, to perform at the Salon de l’agriculture. En Daban will perform his famous song “Paysa” in Béarnese in tribute to farmers. Other concerts will punctuate the agenda: Saturday January 25 in the church of Nay, then in Gan, Lescun, Aramits, etc.

Sunday April 6, the singers will be on deck as part of World Autism Day. Finally, on Wednesday July 30, En Daban will give a concert as part of Summer in Pau, in partnership with two other groups, at the Temple on rue Serviez, in Pau. Other projects are in the works, such as a trip to Burgundy to be confirmed.
