The Orchester National de Bretagne returns for the second time to La Maillette, the concert hall of Locminéwith a musical proposal that will make the public discover or rediscover Bach’s universe. But not only that. Harpsichordist Jory Vinikour offers a journey through time around the harpsichord, exploring the works of Jean-Sébastien and Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach, but also a creation by Michael Nyman, contemporary composer.

Discovery of the harpsichord

Spectators will be surprised by the use of the harpsichord in this piece, like a rock guitar, proof that Bach’s music is timeless. Jory Vinikourrenowned for its interpretations of baroque music and for the promotion of contemporary works for harpsichord, offers the opportunity to discover this instrument through the ages, without ever losing its baroque origins.

To support him on this journey inspired by the musical heritage of Johann Sebastian Bach, the harpsichordist surrounded himself with 23 musicians of the Orchester national de Bretagne, including the two soloists, Fabien Boudot and Eric Bescond. True pillars of this program, two essential concertos by the master will be the starting point and arrival point of this journey.

Enveloped by the genius of Bach, two other works and two other eras are to be discovered: a work composed by his son Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach and the French creation of a concerto for amplified harpsichord by Michael Nyman, using the harpsichord as the solo guitar of a rock band. This classical music concert, lasting 2 hours 10 minutes, is part of the cultural program offered by the Morbihan Community Center.

Practical: price: €15/€12/€9; ticket office at the tourist office, online and on site on the day of the concert.
