Almost two weeks after launching her heartfelt cry, Leycha Diop still comes up against closed doors and despair. Barely out of a stormy divorce after 8 years of marriage, the singer finds herself in a difficult situation. Evicted from her apartment and expropriated from her property by her ex-husband, Leycha has not yet found a solution. Far from the glitter and the spotlight, she must face the harsh reality. “I struggle to find accommodation,” she confides to The Observer. “It’s not for lack of having multiplied the attempts, but each time, it’s the same thing: closed doors. »

It has now been almost two weeks that the singer has tirelessly walked the streets of the capital, looking for a roof where she could find some comfort for herself and her child. Since her husband terminated the contract for their apartment without notice, Leycha Diop’s life has been turned upside down. “I couldn’t find any help. Each of my steps has been a failure. The brokers, the real estate agents, are insensitive to my situation,” she tells The Observer.

Leycha, who rose to fame with his musical career, now faces insurmountable obstacles finding accommodation. “My status as an artist does not work in my favor. Landlords do not have confidence, and prices are high. We need guarantees that I don’t always have,” she explains to The Observer. Although she has the necessary resources to pay rent, the demands of landlords remain a barrier. “I am ready to pay, but the confidence is not there. It’s discouraging,” adds Leycha, clearly exhausted by this situation.

Regarding the rest of her career, Leycha admits that she prefers to first find a home before making professional decisions. “I have to take care of myself and my child first,” she says. The artist, whose musical career has been at half mast for several years, hopes to be able to bounce back once this ordeal is overcome. “My priorities are elsewhere at the moment,” she confides to The Observer.
